Raised in Calgary, Kate worked as a legal assistant before attending law school at the University of Birmingham in the United Kingdom.
While at law school, Kate competed in the school’s internal Negotiation and Moot competitions and represented the University of Birmingham at the London School of Economics’ Featherstone Moot. At graduation, Kate received the award for Outstanding Contribution to Advocacy.
Kate also participated in the University of Birmingham’s award-winning pro bono program, served as Welfare Officer for the Canadian Society, and mentored Canadian students adjusting to living in the United Kingdom.
After law school, Kate returned to DBB, where she assisted Wendy E. Best, KC, while completing the NCA accreditation exams.
Outside of work, you can find Kate biking around Calgary, attending concerts or reading at a coffee shop.
