DBB Law is happy to announce that we have welcomed Khatera Haidery, Nicole Dechaine and Chris Dormer into the firm’s partnership.
Khatera Haidery began her legal career with DBB Law in 2009 as an articling student and has been an integral member of the family law team at the firm ever since, offering legal services in Dari, Hindi, Farsi and Urdu. With experience before all levels of Alberta courts, Khatera strongly believes that interest-based negotiations and dispute resolution can help ensure sensitive matters are met with the appropriate respect. Outside of her practice, Khatera is proud to be an active mentor and volunteer within the legal community. She is currently volunteering with Pro Bono Law Alberta and provides mentorship through the University of Calgary and the Law Society of Alberta. Khatera is also highly involved with the resettling of female Afghan judges who have escaped persecution in their homeland. Khatera’s dedication to her practice and the community makes her an excellent addition to the partnership.
Nicole Dechaine joined DBB Law in 2015 and since then practices exclusively in the area of family law. She promotes an interest-based approach to resolving family law disputes through effective negotiations, mediation and alternative dispute mechanisms. When litigation is necessary, Nicole is a capable and competent advocate on behalf of her clients. Nicole has extensive experience and success in appearing at all levels of Court in Alberta. Nicole is also a proud volunteer with the Women’s Centre of Calgary and Calgary Legal Guidance, as well as a volunteer educator with LESA. Nicole’s commitment to helping clients confidently make decisions and obtain the best possible outcome throughout various family disputes makes her an essential member of our family law team and the firm’s partnership.
Chris Dormer is a seasoned employment and labour lawyer who prides himself on providing clients with honest and tailored advice to resolve various business disputes and workplace issues efficiently. Chris joined the firm as an associate in 2019 and has appeared before all levels of courts in Alberta, as well as the Federal Court of Canada. He also represents clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including commercial and labour arbitrations and mediations. In addition to his practice, Chris has extensive experience speaking at seminars and writing about trending labour and employment law topics. Several of his articles have been re-published by third-party outlets. Chris’ extensive knowledge and understanding of commercial and employment law make him a great leader within DBB Law.
DBB Law is pleased to include these three exceptional lawyers in the partnership as we continue to uphold our commitment to delivering the best representation and securing favourable results for our clients. We wish each of our new partners ongoing success as they continue their practice as partners at the firm.
