Adolfo Peters joined DBB in 2013. Having lived and studied abroad in South America, South Africa, the United Kingdom and Japan, Adolfo brings a variety of knowledge and experience to the firm.
Adolfo was born in Wales, but raised in Canada and Bolivia. He studied at the Bolivian Catholic University and received a Licentiate in Law degree in 2002. After moving to South Africa with his family in 2003, he attended the University of Pretoria where he received his LLM in International Law.
In 2006, Adolfo settled in Canada where he began his studies in law at the University of Calgary. While there, he received the Provincial Court Judges Award of Merit for exceptional contributions made to Student Legal Assistance (SLA). Upon graduating, Adolfo received the Dean Michael Wylie Social Responsibility Award for significant contributions to the understanding or resolution of social or human rights issues.
Since being called to the bar in Alberta in 2010, Adolfo has gathered a wide range of litigation experience in family, civil and surrogate (Estate) court, and appeared in various matters before all levels of the Alberta Courts.
In 2019, Adolfo completed a five-day mediation program that meets the IACP standards for Collaborative Professionals and is one of only two programs in Canada to be approved by the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR) and has participated in numerous mediations and arbitrations in family, civil and estate law matters. Adolfo is committed to obtaining the best results for his clients in the most efficient and collaborative way possible.
In addition to his various commitments to pro-bono work, Adolfo also sits on the Board of Directors for the Calgary Society for Persons with Disabilities and is strong believer that individuals can reach their greatest potential and be valued, contributing members of our community with proper supports.
Outside of work, Adolfo enjoys spending time with family, watching movies, reading and cooking.
